| The power from your chainsaw
drives the sprocket, and the sprocket drives your cutting chain at high
speed around your guide bar. Your sprocket, chain, and guide bar are
the three components of your saw's "cutting team." It's the cutting
team that does the actual work of cutting, and your sprocket is an essential
member of the team. OregonŽ sprockets can be installed on chainsaws
having either inboard, or outboard clutch assemblies. Follow the instructions
in the operator's manual provided by your chainsaw manufacturer for
correct sprocket installation.
OregonŽ chainsaw sprockets come in three basic forms: 1. Rim sprocket systems: OregonŽ rim sprocket systems have two components: a clutch cup with splined hub, and a free-floating rim. It is only the rim that makes contact with your chain as the chain is driven around your bar. Rim-type sprocket systems are available for professional and commercial chainsaw users and are favored by those who want the ultimate in performance. 2. Replaceable free-floating rims: The free-floating rim is the component of a sprocket system which is replaced more frequently. OregonŽ offers replacement rims, apart from the sprocket system, in a variety of sizes and tooth-counts for professional and commercial chainsaw users. 3. One-piece spur sprockets: One-piece spur sprockets are durable, economical, simple to use, and very popular. The chain-driving portion of the sprocket, and the clutch cup, are a single component and are all replaced together when a new spur sprocket is installed. OregonŽ spur sprockets are available for all types of chainsaw users: professional users, commercial users, and occasional users. |

POWER MATE® RIM SPROCKETS
Rim sprockets "float" on the splined hub, allowing chain and sprocket to self-align with the bar groove. The three most popular sizes are available in a radially ported design, which uses centrifugal force to throw off sawdust and debris. More Info... (Requires Acrobat Reader) |
