Upgrade to OREGONŽ PowerMate Rims

Most OREGON® rim sprockets for .325” , 3/8” and .404" -pitch chains have been upgraded to include new Wear-depth Indicators. When sprocket wear reaches the depth of the indicator, it’s easy to see that it’s time to replace the sprocket.

Replacing the sprocket at the proper time is important. Excessively worn sprockets become out of pitch with the chain. The out of pitch condition will cause rapid and excessive wear on the chain ,which can lead to chain breakage. Do not run old chain on a new sprocket, or new chain on an old sprocket – either of these situations can contribute to excessive wear or breakage. Without Wear-depth Indicators, OREGON® generally recommends that two new chains be used in rotation with each new sprocket, and that sprockets be replaced every two chains – or sooner. But with the new Wear-depth Indicators on OREGON® rim sprockets, chainsaw users have a more precise means to know when it’s time to replace the rim sprocket.

Reduced Weight Power Match Bars Oregon® Reduced-weight Power Match® Bars Make the Hard Work of Professional Timber Cutters Less Demanding
A standard Oregon® 32-inch Power Match® bar weighs 4.65 pounds, but our Reduced-weight version weighs only 3.42 pounds -- a significant 26 percent reduction in weight.

These special bars are manufactured with a laser cut-out and a precision-machined flange surface that facilitates the installation of light weight, yet high-strength, aluminum inserts. The inserts are bonded to the bar with a high-tech structural adhesive. In addition, the inserts are riveted at each end to help ensure bar integrity should a cutting mishap occur.

An initial design patent has been granted and a further continuation application is in process.

These bars are very tough, with several different versions having been put through two years of field tests in big-timber country with no significant complaints. Test operator comments and feedback have been very positive, and resulted in further quality enhancements related to the bar's level of stiffness, and its overall durability. Our current design has had no failures.

Oregon® Reduced-weight Power Match® bars are built for use with 3/8"-pitch .063"-gauge pro chains, have a 32" cutting length, and offer a choice of two bar mounts for fit-up to the most popular models of large saws preferred by professional cutters working in big timber.
